A small town located on the southeast side of Lake Champlain in Vermont, Shelburne is home to just over 7,000 residents. Shelburne originated in 1763 in honor of William Petty, 2nd Earl of Shelburne and nobleman of the British Parliament and Prime Minister.
Shelburne Community School, which is both an elementary and middle school, is the only public school fully run in Shelburne. High School students attend Champlain Valley Union High School in Hinesburg as part of the Union School District. The Renaissance School and The Lake Champlain Waldorf School are private institutions in the community.
5 parks, a skating rink, dog park, and Ti Haul Trail are a few of the facilities run by the Shelburne Parks and Recreation Department. Youth sports programs, summer concert series, yoga, golf, and table tennis leagues are also offered to Shelburne residents.
